Hello Everyone! I am so excited to have you guys with me, checking out my latest post. I wanted to talk a bit about modern waves, since they are one of the most requested styles we see. Hopefully you will be able to learn a bit from this post. I am happy to answer any questions you may have, so please, do not hesitate to ask!

Its interesting how often we see people come in, that don't realize how easy it can be to do modern waves. By using the right products, and tools, it is rare to meet someone that this style can't be executed in 15 minutes or less. The trick is the right product combo, proper technique, and the right timing of your steps. I will continue to dive deeper into the details of this, as I can.

Lets start with the right timing of your steps. We used to wash, blow dry, and curl, all in the same day. This truly is the old school way of doing things at home. Most of us just don't have time (or want to spend the time) to do this. If you have medium to long hair, this can end up taking an hour or more.....no thank you! Try washing your hair at night, applying your products, and letting it dry overnight. This will save you time and effort in the morning. It will also add to your modern wave look.

The next day, once your hair is dry, it will more than likely look bananas. That's ok! I will typically brush mine out, and begin curling random pieces, leaving some natural, and some curled. Once I've done my random pieces, I use my hands to shake it out. If you restrain your desire to mess too much, you will have the best modern waves.

I do sometimes like to dry my hair in the morning, but I keep it to this one and only step. I will wash, let it air dry for at least 15-30 minutes, and finish with a brush and dryer. This will be the style for day 1. Day 2 will be my wave day. This way I am dedicating one day to drying, and the next to the iron. I am easily saving myself 20-30 minutes this way...woohoo!

As before, I have created a tutorial for this post. In this video, I followed the process of drying my hair the day before, and curling the next. I promise, if you follow the steps in this video, you will easily have modern waves in no time. To view click the video below.

Thank you guys so much for checking this out....I appreciate each and every one of you guys!
