Trials in life are inevitable. This is something that we know, all too well.

In this job, we hear a lot. Death, love, struggles.

There is something about sharing these moments with others that is therapeutic. Not only for the ones that go through these things....but also us, who have the opportunity to hear.

This is a learning experience...for which I am grateful. Each day, we get to share these struggles, we have a chance to find perspective in life. For example, I may go in to the day with a bad hair day, frustrated at the fact that I can't get it right. By the end of the day, I can guarantee my hair doesn't matter that much.

This profession, is one of service...of hands, of heart, of mind. Thats where I find solitude in my decision to choose this. Let's just say it keeps me in check. The reality is, if we are breathing, walking, and talking...we have a lot to be grateful for. For me, I am trying to see life in perspective. No matter what I may see as a struggle, there is someone behind me that is struggling too. In many cases, experiencing things in life that I can't comprehend.

So what would be my professional advice in this blog post? Let's try to keep things in perspective...relative to what others face. This doesn't mean that my struggles don't matter, it just means that I have to keep the definition of struggle in mind. As we all know, we can always have it worse than we do now.

When we are frustrated, its good to take time to think of the one behind you.

The one that just got news that brings them to their knees, the ones that have to continue in strength...because there is no other choice. Sometimes, I think this is Gods way of bringing us back to reality with our struggles.

Try today...to keep things in perspective.
